A Congress of Firsts

We’ve come a long way, baby…(click on the graphic to enlarge and read more clearly):

Now Congress is looking more and more like AMERICA.

Look at the beautiful colors and faces and all that.

Diversity. It’s a good thing.

Is this perfect? No. Can it get better? Yes. Why?

Because we’re Americans and this is what we do. We get better, and better, and better.

Yes, I’m Thrilled…

…that team Obama/Biden won our Presidential election.

This is good. I can has health care without the idea of a “pre-existing condition” hanging over my head.

As far as the Romneys go…

Now we have to keep up the momentum for another 2 years, to kick the GOP/Teabagging governors out of office, like Florida’s Governor Voldemort….I mean, Rick Scott.

PINK SLIP RICK!!!

Dear Taliban – For Malala

Dear Taliban:

You have already lost, you know. You might as well just give it up.

I know that you people have sworn that if Malala lives, you will find her and “finish the job.” But you know what happens then?

Girls all over your nation will rise up and begin clamoring to go to school and have an education just like Malala. She will become their hero, their martyr. We Christians call many of these people “saints.” And perhaps you are not familiar with the statement made by Tertullian in the 2nd century: “The blood of the martyrs is the seed of the Church.” Yes indeed, and you see how huge and powerful the Christian faith has become over the last 2K years, don’t you? Oh yes. Martyrdom is VERY EFFECTIVE.

So you bear that in mind. Shed Malala’s blood and you will water a tree so mighty you will be completely overwhelmed by it. She will be more dangerous to you and your way of life if you kill her, than if you just left her alone to live and go to school and be an example to other young girls who will follow in her footsteps.

It’s inevitable, Taliban. Give it up now. You have already lost, and that is why you strike out in such desperation.

Sucks to be you, doesn’t it?

Yours,
Me

A Snake On A Plane

I just found this over on Facebook:

I also learned that he funds this.

He has also given money to Harvard University.

Now, this is my “suspicious bitch bump” talking (I borrowed the phrase “suspicious bastard bump” from Joe and tweaked it to suit my gender), but now that I know this about this guy, I just HAVE to WONDER what kinds of things these “enlightened” programs teach about Islam and Muslim culture, etc, at Georgetown and Harvard, using his money.

Given that the internet has no tone of voice, you’ll have to assume that the above was spoken with some heavy-duty sarcasm inserted there.

I know what my dad would say about this guy, and it wouldn’t be pretty. Not at all. Let’s just say it’s a good thing my father did not live during the Golden Age of the great knightly/monastic Orders, such as the Templars and Hospitallers. He’d have tried to join them, and he would *gladly* have gone on crusade to the Holy Land.

Having just read some interesting dirt on this guy, I have to wonder if Dad was right. And see, guys like HRH doesn’t have to resort to flying planes into buildings to get his point across to us stupid Americans. No, he’s got money. He can buy university professors and have them teaching the youth of our country how to hate our country. Far, far more dangerously subversive and a lot deeper-reaching than something so crass and barbaric as a mere terrorist attack using airplanes.

This sort of ties in with something else I found on Facebook:

Oh yes, I think these two memes have everything to do with each other. As Dad used to say, “Follow the money.” When one does that, all KINDS of interesting truths come out.

Does this make me a conservative? Perhaps in some ways, it does. But not quite in the same way as some people are “conservatives.” And even if it does, that’s not necessarily a bad thing. There are some things about the US that are worth “conserving,” and sometimes walking against the tide of popular leftist opinion is lonely and painful.

But long ago I swore to myself that I would serve the truth, and I can’t go back on that promise.

I don’t have any hard and fast proof that HRH’s money really is funding anti-American sentiment, but I think there is a strong possibility. People need to take this into consideration…

Follow the money…

More Anti-Religious Hate

I found this on a Facebook thread:

I love how these morons use passages from a fictional book to try and prove, and reinforce their point, and to also try to scare people into believing that we will be smited by some old man in a cloud. Religion and that book are obviously not about love. It must suck to live with so much hate in your heart about your world and all those around you.

“It must suck to live with so much hate in your heart about your world and all those around you.” Well, that comment could be directed right back at YOU, you narrow-minded bigot.

The comment was part of a thread in response to this image:

But guess what?? Bashing religious people IS HATE! It’s just done on religious grounds. It’s still bigotry. It’s still narrow-mindedness. It’s still assuming that the only way to read religious texts is with a 5th grader’s interpretation of them. It’s still complete idiocy.

One of these days, people will come to realize that life is not in shades of black & white. It’s not a case of, is this fiction & lies or is this absolute truth? But for now, people just don’t WANT to think any further past “IT’S ALL LIES!”

Just thought I’d put that out there.

Why The US Needs Universal Health Care

Just read this post and it should be quite clear.

To say “I don’t want to pay for someone else’s health care” is just selfish and inhumane.
